Rejoice at the coming of our Savior! On this third Sunday of Advent, relish in the joy that comes from faith. Dwell in the peace that comes from being in the true presence of Jesus.
“No doubt, faith must be animated by charity. Faith should not only be a light in the mind, but it should be in the heart as well. There must be in faith a disposition of the heart; love of truth. This is why you must savor what you believe.” - Blessed William Joseph Chaminade
Lord, we wait for you in love.

The Provincial Council gathered for its office staff Christmas luncheon and white-elephant gift exchange. 🎄🎁🎅
'Twas less than two weeks before Christmas, and all through the space, creatures were stirring all over the place.
The presents were stacked on the table with care, in hopes their gifts would be rare.
The employees were nestled all snug in their seats, with visions of holiday treats.
Fr. Tim tore through the wrapping with a gleeful jeer, while Fr. Oscar was left with a Tootsie Pop, extra-large but so dear.
There was bacon toothpaste, a squirrel hand puppet, a leg lamp that glowed, and a homemade wreath weaved of tongs with a bow.
Much laughter erupted as the stealing began, with gifts changing hands, it was all part of the plan.
The food was delicious, and bellies were full, with joy and good company; the day was a thrill!

Today we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In 1531 Mary appeared to Juan Diego near Mexico City. In 1999, Pope John Paul II decreed that Our Lady of Guadalupe to be the Patroness of the Americas.
God of power and mercy, you blessed the Americas with the presence of the Virgin Mary. May her prayers help all men and women to accept each other as brothers and sisters. Through your justice present in hearts and in our service to others, may your peace reign in the world. May the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit be glorified in all places through the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. Amen

Blessings to you all and to Bro Jim who has graced us with his presence here in Ireland for so much of his life, we are eternally greatful, Happy to say he is more than just an example of how to serve but a dear dear friend also. The many Marianists I have met over the 50 odd years with whom I have had the pleasure to meet have been an absolute positive influence on me,my life ,and how I appreciate everyone I meet. The hospitality given by the Community here in Ireland has always been above and beyond.
Today is the memorial of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast day normally falls on December 8, but when that date is a Sunday, the feast is transferred to the following day. And so this year, we celebrate this feast officially on December 9.
This is the patronal feast of the Marianist Sisters, the Daughters of Mary Immaculate. We also remember that it was on this day in 1800 that the first men approached Blessed Chaminade to form the first Marianist Sodality. On this day, the first members of the Society of Mary made private vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.

Marianists are known for their humble service and desire to put others before themselves.
Bro. Irwin Wachtel has been joyfully doing just that for 70 years as he has kept facilities in pristine condition as a maintenance specialist. Over the years, he has spent time caring for the buildings (and therefore the people) at Maryhurst, Central Catholic High School, St. Mary's University, Marynook, Chaminade High School, Marianist Retreat Center and now the Marianist Residence in San Antonio, Texas.
Bro. Irwin is a reliable, friendly face who is always the first to lend a hand. Thank you, Brother, for many years of offering your talents to build the kingdom of God. Read Bro. Irwin's jubilee testimonial online at loom.ly/mK_bpXs
